I’m posting this piece I did back in spring. It was my first public exhibit. It was a collection of 26 pieces all of which sold except for five.
It was an extremely validating moment for me as an artist. It was also an expression of love to share what I felt and saw in a story of a young boy named Roan and his battle with an illness a person of his age should never have to experience. Yet there he was a true warrior. I’m happy to say Roan turned nine this year and is winning his battle.
I have the opportunity to display my work at City Perks here in Saskatoon again this coming spring. I’m beginning to work on the new collection shortly.
Our dreams and imagination can help carry us when we have to battle hard. This piece reminds me of that work and of the zest for life Roan has and the hard work his beautiful Mom and loving Dad put in to keep spirits high throughout their journey together.
This piece is one of the last left for sale.
