Introduction to the series: I saw these mini canvases and my heart immediately fluttered because they were a perfect way to give people an opportunity to have an original artwork that was not only affordable, they could take it anywhere! Have it serve as a reminder for what ever they need it to mean for their personal struggle. Have it represent their focus on positivity and love.
My idea was you could keep them in your wallet or literally your pocket. Pull it out wherever you go and have a piece of personal beauty, love, heart, and a symbol of hope. A means to keep the the days you face positive uplifted and the struggles a little more endurable.
A friend did that for me at the start of my healing journey from childhood sexual abuse. It was just a small square shadow box frame with a beautiful saying. I moved it around my home often so I could see it and even though it didn't solve all of my problems it was a constant reminder, like the sun or moon, that I mattered. That I could do some of the hardest work I would ever do.
This piece here is the second of eight in the series. I will write about each one. Though they be small they are full of heart and love for people, life, and deserve to be showcased individually!
Part Two: This second piece I think was the star dust, the remaining sparkles, and inspiration from the inner beauty portrait: The Wilding. That painting and the wisdoms shared have kept me in a place of mind-wonderment, enchantment, and enthrallment.
So I call this piece: Journey On
The idea that we are all on a journey is something that has been around for a long time. Also the idea that we can journey on despite the struggles, the aches of heart, the unexpected. The idea that we are never completely broken and it is our very own mindset, our choice to make our way, despite all that this world will throw at us to try and stop us.
We can still find the wonderment in how a tiny ant works so hard to create so much. That the river can cut through rock and find its way and sustain life. That a child can find ways to cope with what is happening in their life, despite the dysfunction of it. As an adult we can choose to see this life as an enthralling journey despite our past, despite the struggles we may face.
That we can look up on a clear night no matter where we are and try counting the stars and find wonderment in the light of the moon. That we can feel that vastness of the journey, yet feel so connected when we stop to listen to the rhythm's of life all around us, human to human or in the natural world.
I know in my own journey through pain and heart ache letting myself listen to the song of the wind in the trees, look up on a starry night and feel the infinite wisdom in the expanse above, or watching the glowing sun set for another day, filled me when I felt so lost and empty and even though I wasn't sure what was to follow, I knew I had to journey on and that I could endure. I would make it another day.
An ancient saying often came to mind it went something like this, 'Our Creator is faithful, and will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear'... the idea that we are never completely broken that there is always a way to endure no matter how deep the struggle. No matter how far the journey we can find a way to journey on.
