This piece is a result of Steve Wilding. His name alone makes you feel like there is a freedom and purpose within him. He may not realize it but his inner beauty is so epic that there was no way for me to capture it completely.
He is a man of great worth. A person worth knowing and listening to the rivers of life flowing through him. My heart opened wider the day I read Steve's story and let his light in. I can not tell you all of the details as they are not mine to tell. But I can share with you the inner beauty I felt through this work of art.
I did not know how to capture him with color other than this feeling of great wide open spaces of green, blue starry nights where we journey through our thoughts and hearts and hope to grow a seed of promise and magic. He took me on a journey with his story.
I want to share with you something he said that was the catalyst for me:
"There is something within us all that can never be broken or made to bow down, that something is with us all, in a very real everyday sense. I always knew this deep down but it was beaten deeper and deeper into me.
I know deep down now, that that spirit that is within me, within all of us...it can never be broken. That spirit is true beauty and magic, it's timeless and it is always with us here in the present moment where ever we maybe, something deeper.
I always felt that I was in danger of losing this deeper thing, but actually from going through the experiences I've had, I've realized that it is very intimately a part of me now... and any sadness I've felt, about being distanced from it, is just because I've not been in touch with it. I'm happy to say that I've never felt more in touch, in a very real sense, with this something than at this point in my life and I look forward to beginning to share it with other people more in my own way.
Very simple really and something that we are all aware off don't you think?... but still ultimately its what we are all searching for really isn't it."
Do you feel the tingling of your skin?
I know I did! He is so right isn't he? I mean, we all have the ability to look within and connect with our innermost self. We can reach for the magic, the beauty, the awesomeness we see around us. We have the ability to fight off the ugliness of this world and see the bigger picture. We can journey to the stars and become awe struck and share that love and beauty with others in our lives.
So with this piece I wanted to share the epic journey I felt in painting Steve's inner light. I want him to know that he has no reason to hide himself away, if he ever felt the need to do so. That he has been on a journey of depth that has brought him to this moment in time that I am so privileged to have seen in this way. That he is a man of incredible heart and wisdom's. I celebrate him and all that he shared as a way to shine his light and the wonderful person that he is.
You should also know dear reader that Steve is a quality craftsman. His place of creating is called Wildwood Drift...again I couldn't love that more! Please check out his lovely work!
The music Steve chose is one I will hold dearly.
