This "heartwork" was inspired by a woman named Lydia all the way over in Switzerland. I was amazed by the connection we had after just an email or two! I would have never guessed that a giveaway on Facebook would lead to such a connection between two people.
As I read Lydia's emails my heart felt so happy to have found such a beautiful person inside and out. We have a dear connection.
Fortunately we had a mutual friend on Facebook, otherwise I may have never connected with Lydia as I realized after running the giveaway that there were scammers running scams as though they were giveaways! UGH! So we have another dear woman to thank too! She is a warrior for ending child sexual abuse and supporting those adult survivors of sexual abuse Linda M. Fossen. Linda had nothing but wonderful things to say about dear Lydia and this endeared me to Lydia even more!
Lydia responded to my emails so eloquently and with such a tenderness that I couldn't help but want to know more about her. She shared that she craved color in the winters. I could relate! Most of us here in Canada go through the same feelings of missing color in nature through the winter months. She shared that she was drawn to pink and purples and cooler colors. She loved flowers and romantic scenes. What person with a genuine heart and love for others doesn't?!
So with our emails in mind and thinking of the wondrous place she must live. How this dear woman offered me to come and visit and meet her and share a piece of life. I had to share with her the beauty she possesses, with a vibrant flower bursting to reach out and lay its color and vibrancy on us! I hope Lydia really understands how beautiful she is inside and out.
When I emailed to say the piece was on its way she shared a faith inspiring thought that I think all creatives need to hear. Lydia loved the topic of flowers because they are one of many symbol's of God's creativity. She continued by saying:
"Your picture is a way to praise him - that's a thing I learned a short time ago. I love being creative- So you've touched my heart!!!"
This dear woman has touched my heart as well and I look forward to the time I land in Switzerland and give her a good and proper hug and thank her for being a part of this fantastic journey!
With Love from me to you Lydia! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to your dear heart!
