This piece was made for a love letter enthusiast! Every month I give away a piece of my heart (artwork) as a thank you to one of you on the journey with me through my weekly love letter of inspiration emails!
I painted this piece specifically with an enthusiastic man named Jay, in mind and heart. After a few emails we quickly created a human connection and it is surprising how listening to someones words and the music they enjoy, even through email, you can get a sense for someones zest for life.
Here is how Jay came to be on the receiving end of a piece of artwork painted specifically for him.
My daughter and I decided to take the list of names of my love letter enthusiasts and play a rather long game of eenie meenie miney moe! I don't think I will be able to do that ever again so that makes this very special indeed!
After recovering from the longest game ever of eenie meenie miney moe...
My first email to Jay was to let him know that he had been chosen to receive the monthly piece of artwork for being a love letter enthusiast and some questions that would help me paint a piece of artwork just for him.
Jay's initial email came to me all the way from Australia! He and his sweet family were traveling and adventuring over there. This initial bit of information thrilled me because I have always wanted to travel to that magnificent continent! I immediately felt the call of the ocean pulling me. I was right to feel this way as Jay shared his love of water and the ocean! He was drawn to the colors blue, green and purple.
Jay also expressed his excitement and gratitude for having been given the opportunity to have something created expressly for him! This made my day.
Another email came in to answer a couple of other questions I had thought of. In that email Jay shared that his original email had had some technical difficulties and I had not received the whole email. He shared that he was originally from the Sunshine Coast on Australia's east coast! So this information made me feel it was so important to give Jay something that perhaps would connect him to his roots on a daily basis.
He shared how he met his beautiful wife and that he had two lovely children. A heart full of love was evident in his expressions. Although I have never met Jay and his family in person I can always tell something by the eyes of people in their photos.
He answered my music question specifically with a band I had never heard of before! I must say I enjoyed painting along to this music! I think you can feel the laid back yet vibrant music come through! If you want to check them out they are called: "Fat Freddy's Drop" from New Zealand.
Once I prepared the painting for its travels and shipped it, I sent an email letting Jay know it was on its way. He was so excited and full of gratitude once again and told me he would take a picture once he placed the painting where it will reside and assured me not to worry for this piece of my heart will be loved and have a special home. This warmed my heart.
Jay's family is lucky to have such a man full of life in their lives. I imagine their family adventures will continue for a very long time.
I am so grateful and feel so privileged to be making these connections with such amazing people in the earth and share a little piece of what I do with them.
With Love from me to you and yours Jay! Thank you for being along on this journey!
